ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Lynne Church creates serene outdoor spaces that are interesting all four seasons of the year and respect the land, the house and, most importantly, the interests and desires of the client. Since many of her clients are working professionals with little time to maintain their landscapes, she specializes in creating gardens that require a minimum of upkeep during the year by relying primarily on trees and shrubs to provide structure. She also uses native plants where possible to provide habitat for animals, birds and insect pollinators. Her work ranges from small Capitol Hill gardens to two acre lots in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Lynne spent 35 years practicing law at federal agencies and a gas and electric utility and serving as a senior corporate executive. She most recently was the President of the Electric Power Supply Association, a trade association in Washington, DC. After hanging up her high heels in 2005, she returned to school and obtained a graduate certificate in landscape design from George Washington University. She started Lynne Church Landscape Design in 2007.
Lynne is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the Landscape Designers Group, and the DC Bar Association. She is also a graduate of Goucher College and the George Washington University Law School.
